Park Board

Rule

The 11-member Park Board develops and reviews plans for the acquisition and development of parks and recreational facilities, develops recreation programs, reviews parkland dedications for new subdivisions and makes recommendations to the Council.

Each member of the Board, which includes a member of the Board of Education, serves a three-year term.

Park Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. When the second Tuesday falls on a national holiday or election-day, the meeting is typically moved to the following Wednesday.

Meetings are aired on Edina Community Channel 16 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 8 p.m. Mondays for two weeks following a meeting.

Park Board members are each assigned to monitor parks and serve as a liaison between the community and other Board members.
