ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

FIBER OPTIC NETWORK CONSTRUCTION

BID CLOSES AT 2 P.M. MONDAY, OCT. 6, 2008

Sealed bids will be received and opened in the Community Conference Room of Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St., Edina, MN, at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6, 2008. Said bids to be for furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction of a fiber optic network to connect five city sites to their existing fiber network. A meeting with prospective bidders will be held September 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room of Edina City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St., Edina, MN 55424. Prospective Contractors are invited to attend this meeting to ask questions regarding the bid.

All bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, bid bond or certified check, payable to the City of Edina for ten percent of total amount of the bid to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid is accepted and the bidder shall fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required bond.

Each bid and all papers bound and attached thereto, together with the bid guarantee, shall be placed in an envelope and securely sealed. The envelope shall be clearly marked:

It may be mailed, delivered by messenger or submitted in person. Bids arriving after the designated time will not be considered.

A copy of the specifications can be downloaded below and is available at the Edina Department of Engineering, City Hall, 4801 W. 50th St., Edina, MN 55424. The specifications are also available for public inspection at the office of Jack Israel, LOGIS, 5750 Duluth St., Golden Valley, MN. Electronic copies of the specifications are available upon request by contacting jisrael@logis.org. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. No bids will be considered unless sealed and accompanied by bid bond or certified check payable to the City of Edina in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of all bids. The City of Edina reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any portion thereof and will accept a bid that is deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
