Q: What is the Edina Aquatic Center's operating season?

A: The Edina Aquatic Center is open from Saturday, June 11, 2011 through Sunday, August 28, 2011.

Q: What are the Edina Aquatic Center's operating hours?

A:  The main pool is open 11:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The zero-depth pool is open 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. In August, all pools close at 8 p.m.

Q: Do I have to pay admission even though I am not going to swim?

A: All guests are required to pay admission to get into the park. There is no way to separate or regulate those who are not using the amenities.

Q: Are there additional fees once I get in to the Edina Aquatic Center?

A: All amenities, with the exception of the concession stand, are included in the daily admission or season ticket fee.

Q: Does the Edina Aquatic Center accept personal checks?

A: Unfortunately, the Edina Aquatic Center can no longer accept personal checks. However, we do accept cash or credit card purchases at our Admissions and Concessions windows.

Q: How warm is the water?

A: We heat the main pool to 84 degrees and the zero-depth pool to 86 degrees.

Q: Are swim diapers required on tots?

A: Swim diapers are required on all children 3 and under and on children over age 3 who are not completely potty trained. You can purchase a swim diaper from the admissions counter.

Q: What are some of the things I can bring in to the Edina Aquatic Center?

    A: US Coast Guard Type III approved flotation devices, birthday cakes and fold up lawn chairs.

Q: Is the food at the Edina Aquatic Center expensive?

A: No. Menu prices range from $1.00 to $4.50 per item.

Q: Do you have lifeguards on duty?

A: The pool is staffed by certified lifeguards who complete a rigorous national training program. The pool also undergoes safety audits throughout the season.

Q: What rules are there concerning dress code?

A: We recommend proper swimming attire. Cutoff shorts are not acceptable; the rivets on the shorts will damage the waterslide.

Q: How can I apply for a job at the Edina Aquatic Center ? How old must I be?

A: Edina Aquatic Center applications are available starting January 1, both on-line and at Edina City Hall, 4801 West 50th Street. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Employment opportunities include lifeguard, admissions, concessions, guest services, costume character and early morning maintenance.

Q: Does the Edina Aquatic Center sell or rent beach towels?

A: Yes, the Edina Aquatic Center sells beach towels.

Q: I lost an item by the pool, where can I find it?

A: Call or stop by the Edina Aquatic Center to report a lost item. Please note that the Edina Aquatic Center only keeps items for one week.

Q: I forgot some important swimming related items at home!

A: The Edina Aquatic Center has you covered. Swim diapers, dive rings, goggles, beach towels and sunscreen are available for purchase at the admission window.
