City of Edina and Twin Cities Red Cross to host ‘CPR Saturday’
Edina, Minn., Jan. 14, 2008 – The City of Edina and the Twin Cities Area Red
Cross will host “CPR Saturday” on Jan. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
South Metro Public Safety Training Facility, 7525 Braemar Blvd.
The cost of the program is $45 -- a 10 percent discount from the normal rate.
Those attending CPR Saturday will learn how to spot the signs of a heart attack,
check an unconscious victim, give rescue breaths, administer first aid for
choking and administer CPR using a breathing barrier.
In 2007, the Twin Cities Area Red Cross trained more than 370 Edina residents in
CPR and other lifesaving skills, and this year’s goal is even higher. In an
effort to prepare residents for emergencies both big and small, the Red Cross is
working with more than 40 cities around the metro area to promote emergency
preparedness. The goal of the campaign is to save lives by having residents “Get
a Kit, Get a Plan, and Get Involved.”

Red Cross at 612-872-3245.
