Loudspeakers

Permitted residents and businesses may use a
loudspeaker for outdoor events and parties. Several such events occur in
the community each year, but a loudspeaker permit must be issued for each
one.
Loudspeaker permit
applicants must first notify all neighboring property owners within a
200-foot radius of the proposed loudspeaker location for the planned
event. A permit will not be issued if a neighbor objects.
The applicant must agree to
supervise the person or group in control of the amplifiers or loudspeaker
equipment. All noise must end by 10 p.m. or immediately if a complaint of
excess noise and subsequent determination of a violation is made by a
police officer.
Cost for processing a loudspeaker permit application is $22. Applications must be turned in at least five
business days in advance of the event. If the loudspeaker is approved, the
Licensing Clerk will provide the applicant and Fire, Police and Public
Works departments with copies of the application.
